For those of us who own goats, we KNOW the predicaments that they can get into....without even trying. I had just finished with hay and water in the garage for the girls who are in there for the winter....I turn around and there is Natalie with her pink collar twisted around the snowblower chute handle. Now how did she manage that?

Our new piglets have quite the personalities already at three weeks. We go into the pen and sit everyday so they are used to us and will be easy to handle. It's so much fun to have them come and crawl into your lap for a scratch.

I'm not sure what gets any sweeter than a face like this. Just had to share one of Dinah's kids. Isn't that a face that you could just smooch on?

Our Border Collie is turning 14 this year. She has had a full life of chasing cars and coyotes and herding goats and kids. She is really showing her age this winter and I can't help but wonder how long she will be with us. She tries to keep up with the younger dogs, but trips and falls when her hind legs give out on her....but they forget how fast she can turn and give a quick nip to slow them down. She has a hard time getting up the steps but will make sure everyone else is in the house before she will come in. She will do her part in nipping at the livestock if they step out of line and they all respect her as they back up into place. As the kids get onto the bus, Lexie howls a good bye song until she can greet them again when the bus drops them off. And she knows when it comes up the road....a bark by the door means she wants out to greet them. Two barks means I haven't moved fast enough to get her out. She is laying by me now, just like in the picture below. All four paws are moving fast and she is barking in her sleep. Wonder what she is chasing? Must be something good. What a dog.

The Learning Readiness class came out to the farm a few years ago and learned about goats. They fed the goats, loved on the goats and played with the goats. Not sure if their favorite part was the goats or the bus ride out. This was one of my favorite groups of kids and I am so blessed to be able to work in our school and see them everyday! Thank you, Mary, for giving me a copy of your pictures.

Had to snap this picture of my hubby for proof of him liking my goats. He normally complains about them, so now I know he really does like them. What could be better than relaxing with a bunch of goats?

Julie Shere had a few too many male Muscovy ducks in her order, so she was nice enough to let me buy a few from her. Aren't they just sweet? They are very good bug police and have helped keep the fly population in check down at the barn. Now I just need a few to live down at the pig barn and we'll have it made! Thanks again, Julie!

Forgot to put up a picture of our new baby chicks! I ordered from McMurray Hatchery instead of Hoover's, this time, as they have rare breed chickens. Our order consisted of 10 Blue Andalusians hens and 1 rooster, 10 Deleware hens and 10 Black Star hens. It will be nice to have fresh eggs in a few months!

Just had to share a sweet picture of Leila sleeping on her pile of quads. How blessed am I to get three does and a buck kid! Glad it wasn't the other way around. Oh, how to choose the one I am going to keep. Her face looks very "dishy" here...she has a black foreface and the blanket blends in with it.

We spent some time in the barn today trying to get some good pictures of the new kids. I think it is almost impossible. But we did get this shot of Raven's buck kid that was born on Thursday. He is a sweetheart and his personality is coming out. Watch out, Debbie! He will steal your heart!
